Books! I love books. They're fun to read and tend to wake up the brain (and the vocabulary). Oh yes, if you buy Hooked on Phonics (or something like it) then, in my opinion, you're behaving foolishly. All that it does is make the parent spend helpful time with the kid. If you don't know how to do this, ask your mother! (If your mother isn't helpful, try asking your kid!!)
