Source: coasttocoastam.com These photos were sent to them by a ham radio friend.  They were taken by Captain Myron Balchin Sr of the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Honolulu, 280 miles from the North Pole.  In other words, the submarine is at the Arctic Circle...

Personally, I suspect the men aboard the sub were more excited than the bears.  The bears are displaying an impressive curiosity.  Afraid of something bigger than they are?  Do they LOOK afraid?
